Summer Days, Better Days

Yesterday marked the beginning of summer for me (summer meaning bliss, happiness etc.).
Besides the fact that it was beautiful I spent it with really great people - my family and our friends Ed and Susan. We first had a delicious brunch (in which i ate everything in site(buffet)) and then we went to their house. They have the most gorgeous house complete with a cute little balcony- which i decided i need for my room. Its enormous and old and where susan grew up. They drove all over their property, and we rode in the back of the pickup truck and had a great time. Susan is a nurse and an amazing and caring person. I loved talking with her. And it is cute to see how much they love each other. After they showed me around I wished I had my camera so i could take pictures and use them to model out my own house in the future. They had like these hanging candles surrounded in glass over the dining room table like little bubbles. And they had beautiful paintings (susan's daughter is an artist)and family pictures everywhere. And the whole place smelled like yummy flowers(from candles they were lighting). It was so homey and comfortable and I wish i could live there! Later we discussed how we would go away to Italy with them the summer after my senior year! and Susan explained the beautiful villa she had in mind. I want Susan to be my aunt so we can do each other's hair and i tell her secrets :)

Later on, we went to dinner at village pizza in rhinebeck-where first they burned our pizza and seated next to the kitchen and bathrooms! But the night turned around when we met an adorable sheepdog on our way to the car. We talked with the owner for awhile and he's had many dogs in the past and i enjoyed hearing stories about all his dogs. The sheepdog was 10 years old and sooo big and sweet. it leaned all over my little sister and was kissing me. so i just sat on the ground and pet it and talked to it :) and i discovered it has one brown eye and one blue eye. my dad thought that was really cool. This experience made me so excited for Animal Farm(if the people EVER get back to me).

I am so excited for this summer and even next fall~I will close with a summer reading list:

The Last Stretch, pitbulls, & movies.

Last night I was up until 1:30 making a very precise study schedule for the Regents ( i have 4 this year) right up to the day of the first exam. So now I'm exhausted. And I can't get back to sleep (I kinda feel nauseuous from only having 6 hours of sleep) no matter how hard I try. So here I am. I'm very stressed out for the exams, but the completion of my 14 page paper yesterday showed I am getting things done and it'll be fine. I hope. I didnt do well on the Regents last year.

Just yesterday I decided I would start one of the library books I got despite all the stress and chaos. So I chose to start with Emma by Jane Austen. So far its beautiful.

In other stories, I've really been in a movie mood lately. Like watching lots of my favorite movies and my mom and I made a list of all the 80s slasher movies she loved and we r gonna rent them sometime this week. I'm really excited for that.

Movies I've really enjoyed this year were The Lovely Bones, New Moon, The Last Song, and Alice in Wonderland to name a few. The Lovely Bones was just really eerie but totally intriguing and interesting. New Moon I mainly watched to see Taylor Lautner shirtless and such but I grew accustomed to his stunning figure, so I've stopped watching it ;) I really loved the last song. I didnt expect to but i thought it was beautifully done. and Alice in wonderland was fantastic for all the obvious reasons including Johnny Depp.

All time favorites include Dirty Dancing, Marie Antoinette, Goodfellas (Ray Liotta!), My Cousin Vinny etc. I consider these movies classics you can watch over and over again.>

A friend of my dad's heard i was interested in volunteer work with shelters, dogs etc. So she hooked me up with Animal Farm in Amenia N.Y. I'm going to e-mail them once I get the lady's address again (the cleaning lady threw it out :/) the rescue is for pitbulls only. so I am so excited. I feel really lucky to be apart of such a good cause.>
Off to the beginning of a long day. Going to try to finish my homework and studying before midnight tonight so I can get a really nice long sleep.

Here Comes the sun.

The absolutely gorgeous weather we've been having completely matches my mood. I love breezy spring days. The kind of weather that I do all my homework outiside - until the feared wasps ascend. Then I enjoy the great indoors.

I spent this morning looking for colleges out of the great assortment of parophenila I received yesterday from the college fair at Marist. It is so hard to choose, they had so many different unique classes I'm excited about. So far I've narrowed it down to Siena, Hunter, Pace, Aldelphi, and Albright. Those are the best fit for me.

Dad is ecstatic one of my top picks is the college he graduated from (Pace). I immediately assumed I would hate this college, since my dad is a tax accountant, but their liberal arts program is great. So Dad-I'm sorry I judged.

It's going to be so difficult to pick out a major and minor. I want to take everything! I was ovrjoyed when I discovered it is possible to minor in more than one thing- and take a bunch of electives. You see right now I aspire to be a Psychologist for chronically and terminally ill children/veterinary technician/journalist or writer/middle school teacher/history professor/nurse...yeah I'm not very focused right now. I wish I could live in the Renaissance and be a "Renaissance woman". Seriously, I would be so happy if it was possible to just do it all.

Well I must be off, usually around this time I'd be listening to my stuff you missed in history class podcast from iTunes, but thanks to my wi-fi randomly deciding not to work. I will instead immerse myself in Shanghai Girls (which so far I recommend-it reminds me of Sister of my Heart), I guess as immersed as someone nodding off to sleep could be. Going for breakfast and to the library with my dad tomorrow. And other adventures.

Listening to~Kiss You Goodnight- Meg&Dia
If I Die Young-The Band Perry
In Your Arms-Kina Grannis
Dance In the Dark-Lady Gaga
Do You Wanna Touch Me-Joan Jett and the Bllackhearts
