The effects of the Flagyl are finally starting to set in today :/
Dear Life, See you in a week.

4. Write about your closest friend(s).

My closest friends are such amazing people, all for different reasons.
The people I'm closest to and why begins:

Jessi- My little sister. The person I can go to for everything, tell anything to, be anything with. She is so intelligent, so I can talk to her about so many things that are interesting and on my mind. She's so funny so she never fails to make me laugh and always cheers me up. It's also just so easy around her, I feel so safe and content.

Anna- We've been best friends forever. She understands me and makes me feel so secure and confident with her complete acceptance of me and my illness. She loves and cares for me so much that it's hard to believe we're not related.

Chrissy- I don't get to see her that much at all, and that sucks. But she's like the big sister I've never had. I can talk to her about anything and she always made me feel included when I was younger. She's so kind and almost motherly towards me, and she is SO funny.

Jessie: She is the most amazing person ever! We laugh so much when we're together and she makes me feel comfortable about the fact that I sometimes have to be on IV around her (which is hard to do). I can also talk to her about anything, and she's such a caring deep person despite her goofy-theatrical personality. She also loves to hang out with my family (genuinely) and everyone loves her.

Hannah: She's been there for me the entire time I've been sick. She's so caring and always e-mails me and takes interest in my disease (and even reseaches different treatments for me). She never makes me feel like I've been forgotten while I've been home & is the only one who has taken an active interest in my ailment. That's the acts of a "true-blue" friend. lol

You used to get it in your fish nets, now you only get it in your nightdress; discarded all the naughty nights for niceness, landed in a very common crisis.

***I know Fluorescent Adolescent by the Arctic Monkeys is not exactly appropriate for this darling picture, but hey, it's a good song. And you can kinda see where I got the idea, I mean look at the picture for awhile..no? I tried.

3.Your favorite television program

During my many exciting (lazy) adventures at home and in bed, I tend to watch alot more than I'd like to owe up to. Shows that I deeply love, the kind I can quote and admire the actors and such include Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld (clearly I very much love Larry David), The Golden Girls, Keeping Up Appearances, and (embarassingly) America's Next Top Model. I know it's a junk show, but you would be surprised to know how many times I refer to this show and the contestants partaking in it in daily life. I also very much enjoy Saturday Night Live, but it's actually not one of those shows I quote often. I've been watching alot of daytime/talk show type television since I've been laid up with a stomach bug/other mysterious illness (I'm not entirely convinced it's a virus!). Among them are The Ellen Degeneres Show (LOVE her), The Tyra Show and the Wendy Williams show (Don't ask). I used to watch the Dr. Oz show, but it started to creep me out when I realized every woman in the audience had an unhealthy fetish for this doctor guy (creepy).
I also love Law & Order SVU, Cake Boss, Animal Cops (!), The Dog Whisperer (Cesar Milan is my idol!),Desperate Housewives, Dateline: WHat Would You Do?, The Amazing Race (solely because Kev Jumba and his father are on it. Go Team Jumba!) and The Apprentice (solely because of the psychotic childish spastic guy). I also love some late night TV like The Soup and Chelsea Lately on E!. And then on MTV I watch The Buried Life, Teen Mom (the season has ended :/) and World Of Jenks.
Just recently I started watching the Vampire Diaries and I'm surprised to report that I couldn't change the channel. I used to watch Gossip Girl, but everyone was too snobby for me to stay interested.

Yes yes I know, I seriously need a life.

If my life was a movie, this would be my soundtrack.

The Best Day by Taylor Swift~~I'm Only Me When I'm With You by Taylor Swift ~~In the Sun by She & Him ~~When You're Gone by Avril Lavigne ~~Keep Holding On by Avril Lavigne ~~Love the Way you Lie by Eminem and Rihanna ~~Keep Your Head Up by The Love Willows~~Fighting for Nothing by Meg & Dia~~The One by Meg & Dia ~~Nobody's Home by Avril Lavigne ~~Playing God by Paramore ~~Oh No! by Marina and the Diamonds ~~Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Cudi ~~Dog Days Are Over by Florence + the Machine ~~Tell Me Why by Taylor Swift ~~I'm A Cuckoo by Belle & Sebastian ~~Use Somebody by Kings of Leon ~~Be OK by Ingird Michaelson ~~What I Wouldn't Do by A Fine Frenzy ~~21 Guns by Green Day ~~When I Look At You by Miley Cyrus ~~Addicted to Love by Florence + the Machine ~~Blow Away by A Fine Frenzy ~~Brick by Boring Brick by Paramore ~~Chasing Pavements by ADELE ~~Eye of the Tiger by Survivor ~~Going Away by Meg & Dia ~~Here, Here & Here by Meg & Dia ~~She Will Be Loved by Maroon 5 ~~Ignorance by Paramore ~~Hug Me by Meg & Dia

2. What is true love?

I can't say that I've ever been in love before, so I can't tell you exactly what it is. But I can tell you what I think it is.

True love is an unbreakable bond between two people. It makes you see the world in a completely different light: revolving around and related to the one you love. It's when you can't stand being away from that person and they're all you think about and talk about; when you're with them, you can't imagine being any happier than you are at that moment with them. It's when you accept someone for all their flaws and see all the good in them; even their flaws seem endearing and flawless (and they feel the same way about you). It's when you feel optimistic and confident around that person and they bring about the best in you. It's when you would do anything for that person just to please them or make their day (within reason of course). It's when you can tell that person anything and everything you feel and think about. It's when you feel completely safe and content with that particular person. It's that feeling when you see that person, you get butterflies in your stomach and can't imagine a world without them.

I hope someday soon I can experience the magic of a true love.

Song challenge day 18- a song that you wish you heard on the radio

I wish I heard Meg & Dia on the radio- especially their new album which drops next week. From that album, I love "The One"- the lyrics are so beautiful:

Just go, Just walk away,
so bittersweet, you're already far away.
Take with you, our memories
They're opening like summer flowers.

Don't you be fooled
I loved you more, than I would ever dare tell you, I'd ever dare tell you.
I'll let you go, I'm only holding you back,
You're more than a small town, you're more than a small soul.

Close those pretty eyes. Don't look behind.
What did I tell you? That past is past, don't let it follow you.
Don't think, that by any day....I'll forget your face.
How could one forget you?

Hard to let go of something once you get hold of it...once you get hold of it, ya.
Don't you think for a moment....that you aren't worth all of it.

Tell me what you know about dreams, dreams. Tell me what you know about night terrors, nothing. You don't really care about the trials of tomorrow, rather lay awake in a bed full of sorrow.
I'm on the pursuit of happiness and I know everything that shines ain't always gonna be gold, and I'll be fine once I get it- I'll be good.

1.Your middle name and how you feel about it.

My middle name is Nicole. I really do like it for two reasons. First, I find that most people have middle names like Lee, Ann, Rose, you know the ones you always seem to hear stuck between one's first and last names. I guess they flow really well or something because most of my friends have middle names like these. I feel like Nicole gives me a unique identity and I can only think of one person I share it with (Lizzy I think). The other reason I like it is because I feel like it's my alter ego. I don't identify myself at all with Nicole, as I rarely ever here it when being spoken to (unless I'm being scolded- "Megan Nicole! You naughty girl."~not really how I'm scolded, not that I'm scolded often *sighs* anyway, I digress). It doesn't feel like a part of me, it's weird. I feel like it doesn't belong to me and I sort of like that. I feel that the name leaves the potential that I can be or am someobody else, entirely different from my normal self. And so maybe one day, like in college at some point, it'll dawn on me that I have now transformed myself into Nicole. (Being that I rather like my first name, I'd still call myself Meg.)

Song Challenge day 17- a song that you hear often on the radio

I don't listen to the radio...

Day 29: Things you’re looking forward to next week -month

1) Halloween (although I'm not going trick-or-treating (can't eat candy) and probably not going anywhere, I'm gonna still enjoy it!). I will probably watch a marathon of scary movies with my sister--this must include Halloween 1 & 2(well I already saw 1 yesterday so maybe not 1), Friday the 13th II, The Shining, and any other cult films from the eighties Mom recommends.

2) We should be going to the zoo soon. And we are bringing my sister's friend Lizzy and mine, Jessie!

3) My treatment coming to an end (don't know when this is though).

4) Get going on my reading for AP Literature :D
I'm gonna be reading things like Wuthering Heights, Great Expectations, Hamlet, pride and prejudice etc. I'm so excited to "get educated" by the classics!

5) Going back to Animal Farm Foundation

6) Thanksgiving (we are having a good friend of mine over, not to mention the great food!)

7) Christmas- for the ASPCA we are gonna make gift buckets with blankets, food, toys etc. We are also purchasing gifts for particular underpriveleged people through the church. (I know, not only a week or month from now, but who cares- it's something to look forward to).

8) The release of Meg and Dia's new album "It's Always Stormy in Tilamook" (?) on November 2nd. And Lady Gaga's album release for Born This Way.

9) Going to Manhattan to shop at TopShop, Urban Outfitters, and the thrift shops in the Village.

10) And although these are not within the next week or month, moving into an apartment with my sister, studying veterinary medicine, animal psychology, and history, travelling the world and adopting my own dogs. And going to Italy the summer after my senior year.

I've had better days...

Oh, New York City. I may or may not be coming for you soon.

Your lights are on, but you're not home
your will is not your own
your heart sweats, your teeth grind
another kiss and you'll be mine;
Whoa you like to think that you're immune to this stuff, oh yeah
it's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough
you're gonna have to face it, you're addicted to love.

Soundtrack of My Week

Addicted to Love - Florence + the Machine
Fluorescent Adolescent - Arctic Monkeys
The One- Meg & Dia
One- Sky Ferriera
Write About Love - Belle & Sebastian
Pursuit of Happiness- Kid Cudi
Forget You - Cee Lo Green

Hug me 'til you drug me honey, hug me. Hug me 'til you suffocate me, hug me. Drug me 'til you love me honey, love me.

Song Challenge day 16- a song that reminds you of summer

Blow Away by A Fine Frenzy makes me think of the hopes and possibillities that summer brings.

Day 28: Write a letter to someone you’ve never talked to in a long time

Dear God,

I haven't spoken to you in a long time. I'd like to say I just forgot, or that I didn't have time, but then I'd be lying. The truth is I lost faith in you, and for so many reasons. As I've grown older, the corruption and evils of the Catholic church have been revealed to me. Clergyman are power hungry, corrupt, and interpret the Bible to fit their own beliefs- and have been this way the entire history of Christianity. They preach that you love everyone except homosexuals, divorcees, women who get abortions, non-Christians etc. This is so hypocritical, and I would be ashamed to be apart of all that hate and strictness. I have found a haven in my own spirituality through positive thinking, good eating, therpeutic ways of living and meditation. I also haven't spoken to you in so long because life has been so cruel to my family and I these past approx. 4 years. I have been neglected by the medical community up until recently, and now I must suffer the consequences. I developed learning disabilities, and they are only worsening as my treatment progresses, and I have all odds against me for having a baby (Von Willebrand's disease will cause me to bleed out, my heart defect will cause me to have a stroke during childbirth, and my children will be born with the Lyme anitgen and/or Autism). This and many more have convinced me that you have failed me, and may not exist. But another part of me likes to believe this experience will be useful and educational, and I will live the rest of my life healthy and happy. I can only hope this is true.
I am sorry that the corrupt Catholic church has skewed my vision and belief in you, but I will try to see you as you are individually and make an effort to speak to you more often.

-Meg

Soundtrack of my Week

Please Speak Well Of Me - The Weepies
Big Jet Plane - Angus & Julia Stone
Sunshine - Rye Rye & M.I.A.
One - Sky Ferriera
I Want the World To Stop- Belle and Sebastian
Fluorescent Adolescent - Arctic Monkeys
Pursuit of Happiness- Kid Cudi (feat. MGMT & Ratatat)

Song challenge day 15- a song that describes you

I feel that a patchwork of songs describe me, but if I had to choose one, I'd choose Fighting for Nothing by Meg & Dia (my struggles and vulnerability) or Oh No! by Marina and the Diamonds (my aspirations and determination to succeed).

Day 27: Something that inspires you

I find inspiration in so many things in my day to day life. Music and poetry inspires me the most. My beautiful surroundings inspire me to write good poetry. Successful and persevering people inspire me to try my hardest and stay positive and strong. Truly Good people inspire me to love and care for others (something I need reminding of often). And truly evil people inspire me to be a good person. My sister inspires me to be the best person I can be and puts things into perspective for me- helping me know that we will be alright. Animals inspire me to make a difference in the world and inspire me to be a more loving, gentle and patient person. My parents inspire me to love and succeed at school and anything else I put my mind to. Holidays inspire me to give & be charitable. Books inspire me to get out there and learn and see the world. My doctor inspires me to keep a positive attitude, to be patient, and to pamper myself as much as possible. My good friend Amber inspires me to keep at it and to see that light at the end of the tunnel & exhibits perseverence and strength. My family inspires me to keep going and improving my health and attitude in little ways all the time.
My life is chockful of inspirations and they help me to be and stay the person I am, and the person I am becoming.

(This is for you Jess! If only this was a trombone...)

song challenge day 14- a song that no one would expect you to love

This one's pretty tough. Well...I didn't expect to love "Love the Way You Lie" by Eminem & Rihanna. Does that count? Hmm..I bet my friends wouldn't expect that I love jazz or anything by Ray Charles- for ex. "What'd I Say?". That's the best!

Day 26: Your favorite quote

(I skipped Day 25-write about a new Tumblr or whatever. I don't read those.)

My favorite quotes are currently:
"It's the ride we take, the many winged escape- it's the bough we break to blow away...It's the time we waste swallowed into space; its the time it takes to blow away."
-A Fine Frenzy

"Take with you, our memories. They're opening like summer flowers."
-Meg & Dia Frampton

"The heart may freeze or it can burn; the pain will ease if I can learn. There is no future, there is no past; I live this moment as my last. There's only us, there's only this; forget regret, or life is yours to miss. No other road, no other way; no day but today."
-Rent

Facebook Lawyer: Mr. Zuckerberg, do I have your full attention?
Mark Zuckerberg: [stares out the window] No.
Facebook Lawyer: Do you think I deserve it?
Mark Zuckerberg: [looks at the lawyer] What?
Facebook Lawyer: Do you think I deserve your full attention?
Mark Zuckerberg: I had to swear an oath before we began this deposition, and I don't want to purjure myself, so I have a legal obligation to say no.
Facebook Lawyer: Okay - no. You don't think I deserve your attention.
Mark Zuckerberg: I think if your clients want to sit on my shoulders and call themselves tall, they have the right to give it a try - but there's no requirement that I enjoy sitting here listening to people lie. You have part of my attention - you have the minimum amount. The rest of my attention is back at the offices of Facebook, where my colleagues and I are doing things that no one in this room, including and especially your clients, are intellectually or creatively capable of doing.
[pauses]
Mark Zuckerberg: Did I adequately answer your condescending question?

-Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg, "The Social Network"

Norah: There's this part of Judaism that I like. Tikun Olam. It said that the world is broken into pieces and everyone has to find them and put them back together.
Nick: Maybe we don't have to find it. Maybe we are the pieces.
Norah: Nick? I'm coming in...
~
Thom: Look, other bands, they want to make it about sex or pain, but you know, The Beatles, they had it all figured out, okay? "I Want to Hold Your Hand." The first single. It's effing brilliant, right?... That's what everybody wants, Nicky. They don't want a twenty-four-hour hump sesh, they don't want to be married to you for a hundred years. They just want to hold your hand
~
Drunk Kid: Are you off duty?
Nick: This isn't a cab.
Drunk Kid: Are you off duty?
Nick: It's not a cab, my friend, I promise you.
~
Nick: I never wash my pants. I like to keep the night on them.

-"Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist" ^.^ LOVE!

"I don't mind spending everyday out on your corner in the pouring rain; look for the girl with the broken smile, ask her if she wants to stay awhile. And she will be loved...Tap on my window knock on my door I want to make you beautiful...It's not always rainbows and butterflies, it's compromise that moves us along..I know where you hide alone in your car, know all of the things that make you who you are...Please don't try so hard to say goodbye."
-Maroon 5, "She Will Be Loved".

"Would it kill you not to be so funny all the time? That's all I'm askin'. This woman thinks I'm very funny and now you're gonna be funny, so what am I gonna be? I'm gonna be a short bald guy with glasses who suddenly doesn't seem so funny."
-George

"Who are you gonna eat to survive?"
"Kramer."
"So fast? What about me?"
"No."
"Kramer's so stringy. I'm plump, juicy."
"Kramer's got more muscle, higher protein content. It's better for you."
"Well, I would eat you."
"That's very nice, I guess."
"I still don't see why you wouldn't eat me. I'm your best friend."
"Look, if other people are having some, I'll try you."
"Thank you."
- George and Jerry, in "The Abstinence"

-"Seinfeld"

Rose: I can't believe my mother is out riding around on a smelly old bus. Being pushed around, harassed, possibly even mugged by hostile teenagers with bad haircuts!

Rose: You... you... you rude person!
Dorothy: Go easy on him, Rose.
-"The Golden Girls"

Song challenge day 13- a song that is a guilty pleasure

My current guilty pleasure song would have to Love the Way you Lie by Eminem and Rihanna. It REALLY grew on me :)

Day 24: When you look outside step outside your front door of the house, what do you see? picture if you like **

*Sorry, these were all the pictures I could find at the moment!

I am soo lucky, because I see SO many beautiful things when I look out my window. This would definitely would not have been the case 6 years ago when I was living in the Bronx.
Right now, I see a million trees with so many amazing and vibrant fall colors, the huge blue sky; and at night it's dark enough to see every star in the universe right above us. Most awesomely though, I see alot of wildlife: baby squirrels (along with the adults of course), chipmunks, rabbits, tortoises, woodchucks, turkey, skunks, possums, coyotes, deer, and foxes; and a HUGE variety of birds- even hummingbirds. I literally live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. :)

Frustrated utterances.

I am about to lose it. My iTunes WILL NOT open. And I need to update my library! I've been holding off for like months, and this is my reward? Oh well. I've been surfing iTunes from another computer, and here is my wishlist for when the damn thing works again:

I Didn't See It Coming & I Want the World to Stop by Belle and Sebastian (adorable classics).

Forget You by Cee Lo Green (< I'm OB-sessed with this guy's sound.)

Eclipse Soundtrack (how did you pass me by unnoticed??)

Tighten Up- The Black Keys (hell yeah ;))

Rootless by Marina and the Diamonds (the ONE song I don't have of hers. I was quite surprised that was possible)

Fluorescent Adolescent by Arctic Monkeys ( new to me, but I'm feeling them lol)

Love the way you Lie by Eminem and Rihanna (cannot get over this song)

Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Cudi (pretty much anything by him; I love him but somehow only have one of his songs D: )

Sunshine by Rye Rye and M.I.A.

Meg & Dia's upcoming album It's Always Sunny in Tilamook (out Nov. 2nd)

Lady Gaga's upcoming album Born This Way (release date unknown).

I really hope that my little soul sister (aka my dog minnie) will be alive when I move out in 3 years, because i'm sure as hell not gonna separate from her, and would probably bring her. She's 13 now, and she's doing really well (like a puppy one would say) so I hope she's still this way when she's sweet-sixteen :) Only problem is she needs to be walked like 6 times a day since she's old, and she barks. ALOT. (she has anxiety issues). Just hope my roomie won't mind (anna) ;D
She's my little cuddle bug & sick buddy; college would be depressing without her to mellow me out; haha. I'm gonna try to find a way, or some supplement, to ensure she lives until she's like 18+. I'm sure I could rise to that challenge. I'll look it up right now.

And when your plans unravel in the sand, what would you wish for if you had one chance?

Song challenge day 12- a song from a band you hate
